The Giants are going overseas! They face the Rams in London this week with a chance to go above .500. Our heroes won’t have an easy task as the Rams are looking to end a two game losing streak themselves. Can the Giants make it two in a row upon abandoning our great country (excuse me Mr. Trump)?
The Giants offense hasn’t really set the world on fire this season. Eli Manning has been under duress this season many times due to poor play from his offensive line. However he’s mad a lot of poor throws also. With receivers like Odell Beckham Jr. (hopefully his rocky relationship with the kicking net is fine) and Victor Cruz they should be lighting up the scoreboard. Rashard Jennings should help the running game or whatever they call it because there hasn’t been much running. Maybe the rhythm with Mike Sullivan calling the plays isn’t the same as with Ben McAdoo. No two people think exactly alike. Although they both may share the same philosophy, something is wrong. It’s tough to throw every play, but with receivers like this, I’ll make an exception.
Defensively the Giants have to play better also. The line must put more pressure on the quarterback (they have six sacks all season). The defense also has only two interceptions. Janoris Jenkins has been a bright spot (the interceptions are his), but few other impact plays have come from this unit. Forcing turnovers can give the offense better field position and also provide a psychological lift for the team from time to time.
At 3-3 the giants face another 3-3 team in the Rams. Going overseas doesn’t help. The Josh Brown suspension (Robbie Gould was brought in to handle the kicking duties) is a distraction. The fact that the Rams have to come from the other coast could impact them (the LA move doesn’t feel that good this week). As mediocre as the Giants have been a win would give them a winning record. Five division games left give them a chance for the playoffs, although they won’t be easy games. Hopefully the trip goes well. If not, try to get some shots of BuckinghamPalace and check out Picadilly Square. It’s great!
